🎭 What is The Phantom’s Rose Masquerade Ball?
The Phantom’s Rose is an immersive, story-led masquerade ball inspired by gothic romance, classic theatre, and fantasy. Expect live music, performers, hidden notes and riddles, dancing beneath chandeliers, and an evening filled with mystery and magic.
This is not a seated show — it’s an experience you step into.
🎟 Do I need to be a Phantom of the Opera fan to attend?
Not at all. While the event draws inspiration from gothic theatre and romantic fantasy, you don’t need any prior knowledge. If you love immersive events, fantasy balls, mystery, romance, or dressing up — this night is for you.
🎭 Is it a masked event?
Yes. Masks are strongly encouraged but not enforced! Whatever you are most comfortable with.
🌹 What are the roses and what do they mean?
Each guest has the option to choose a rose on arrival to signal their intentions for the evening:

🌸 Pink — Friendship
*Please note: Participation is optional and meant to be light-hearted and respectful. Anyone seen or reported as disrespecting this element of the evening will be asked to leave the premises.
👗 What should I wear?
We encourage guests to dress in their finest gothic, fantasy, romantic or Phantom-inspired attire. Think masquerade elegance, dramatic silhouettes, dark romance, or operatic flair.

💃 Will there be dancing?
Yes. There will be plenty of opportunities to dance throughout the evening, including music from a live string quartet playing a mix of classical and modern favourites, plus a party playlist towards the end of the evening.

Absolutely. The Phantom’s Rose is designed for couples, friends, and solo attendees alike. Whether you come with a partner or on your own, the immersive nature of the event makes it easy to feel part of the story. If you want to get to know guests before the event, join us over in our Discord!

Tickets are £65, plus a small booking fee.
We also offer PayPal Pay in 3, allowing you to split the cost into three interest-free payments:

♿ Is the venue accessible?
Birmingham Council House is an accessible venue. Please contact us in advance and we’ll be happy to assist and make sure we are ready on the evening.
🔄 What is your refund policy?
All ticket sales are final, and unfortunately we’re unable to offer refunds once tickets have been purchased.
However, if you’re no longer able to attend, you’re very welcome to resell your ticket via Tixel, a secure and trusted ticket resale platform. This allows you to safely pass your ticket on to another guest without hassle.
We strongly recommend using Tixel to ensure a smooth and legitimate transfer. PLEASE NOTE: your food preferences/allergies will not be transferred over to the new ticket, please contact us here hello@bookishandbrash.co.uk to let us know you have repurchased a ticket.
