🌿 Is this a ball?

Not really – It will include ball elements. Its more of a free-roam event.

There’s no formal seating plan, no strict dance programme, and no expectation to know traditional steps. This is a six-hour immersive fantasy party where you’re free to wander, dance, explore, mingle, and follow the music wherever it leads.

Think enchanted house party, not royal banquet.

Yes – costume is part of the experience.

On this night, mortals are stepping into Queen Titania’s realm. To keep the illusion alive, guests are expected to dress in fantasy, folklore, woodland, fae, or myth-inspired attire.

You don’t need to spend a fortune – creativity matters far more than budget.

That’s absolutely fine.

A flower crown, flowing fabrics, earthy tones, subtle accessories, or fantasy-inspired styling are more than enough. The aim is cohesion and atmosphere, not competition.

Throughout the evening you can expect:

  • Live folk music for dancing

  • Wandering musicians

  • Interactive fae characters and playful mischief

  • Atmospheric spaces indoors and in the gardens

  • The Goblin Market offering handcrafted wares

Your ticket includes:

  • Entry to the six-hour immersive revel (6pm–midnight)

  • A welcome drink on arrival

  • Access to all live entertainment and performers

  • A beautifully presented charcuterie spread available throughout the evening

  • Exclusive use of Berwick House & Gardens

Additional drinks will be available to purchase at the bar.

The Goblin Market is a curated collection of traders offering handcrafted and fantasy-inspired items.

You’re welcome to browse, purchase, and bargain; but we advise reading any agreements carefully. The fae are known for fine print.

At the stroke of midnight, Queen Titania’s revel comes to an end.

Music softens, the fae retreat, and guests are expected to depart. Anyone lingering too long may find their path lost…

Berwick House is a historic property with both indoor and outdoor spaces. While many areas are accessible, some features may be limited due to the building’s age.

If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us before purchasing tickets and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Yes — this is an 18+ event.

Yes – absolutely.

Many guests attend Bookish & Brash events on their own, and you’ll be in very good company. These events are designed to be social, immersive, and welcoming, whether you arrive with friends or not.

To help guests connect ahead of time, we also run a Discord community where ticket holders can:

  • Introduce themselves

  • Chat with other attendees

  • Share costume ideas

  • Arrange meet-ups before the night

On the evening itself, the roaming nature of the revel, interactive fae characters, and shared spaces make it easy to strike up conversations and feel part of the world from the moment you arrive.

If you’re coming solo, you won’t feel out of place – you may even find it’s the best way to experience the magic.
